In spite of the fact that it has categorically rejected Umer Ayub Khan’s propaganda, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has stated that the ECP, chief election commissioner, and other members of the ECP have been consistently lying.

Given this context, an incorrect statement was made on a television channel, in which it was asserted that the total expenditure on the General Elections 2024 amounted to 14.5 billion rupees, but the ECP wanted further expenditures from the government that was in power at the time in order to have the opportunity to postpone the elections.

Over 28 billion rupees was the total amount spent on the general elections in 2018, as a matter of fact.

As a result of the expenditures that were made for the general elections in 2018, as well as other factors such as inflation, a growth in the number of voters, polling stations, polling workers, and the production of additional ballot papers, the ECP has predicted the amount of money that will be spent on the general elections in subsequent years.

The Election Commission, on the other hand, made attempts to keep the expenses to a minimum, and the total amount that was spent on the general elections in 2024 was approximately 33.5 billion rupees.
