The runners-up in the two National Assembly constituencies filed appeals against the election results before Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri of the Islamabad High Court (IHC).
Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar, a candidate in the seat, and Ali Bukhari, a candidate backed by the PTI, had their Form-45 matched during the proceedings.
Raja Khurram Nawaz, the victor, and the Returning Officer of the NA-48 constituency were fined Rs 15,000 apiece by the electoral tribunal. Additionally, the tribunal forewarned that if the winner did not turn in authenticated copies of the applications, their membership would be suspended.
The election tribunal postponed until June 11 the hearing on the appeal against the NA-46 result and until June 6 the plea against the alleged manipulation of the NA-48 results.
