Arab media: US-Iran talks to be held in Pakistan on July 11
The United States and Iran will meet for the next round of negotiations on July 11 in Pakistan where the two sides will discuss numerous crucial concerns.
Arab media said the talks will focus on the US sanctions on Iran, the release of Iran’s frozen assets and issues relating to Tehran’s nuclear programme.
Al Arabiya said the decision on who will lead the Iranian delegation will be taken after the funeral of Iran’s late supreme leader, Ayatollah Khamenei.
The article added that an official announcement on the composition of the Iranian delegation is likely after the burial proceedings are over.
Tens of thousands of Iranians gathered Saturday at a huge outdoor prayer complex in Tehran to observe the casket of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who controlled the Islamic Republic for 37 years before he was slain at the outset of the US-Israeli assault on Iran.
Mourners wore black and carried red, white and green flags of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and held up posters and A4 sheets printed with photographs of Khamenei and his son and successor as supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei.
Iran is holding large funeral processions for Khamenei, murdered in February by the initial airstrikes of the war launched by the US and Israel, showing public commitment to theocratic state and revolutionary zeal of the Islamic Republic.
