On Wednesday, Dr. Arif Alvi, the former president, disclosed that Imran Khan was presented with an opportunity to leave the nation, but he declined, pledging to remain and bear the repercussions.
Alvi added that Imran Khan’s bravery is demonstrated by his resolve to remain where he is, while speaking at a gathering in Faisalabad.
Alvi expressed his regret at Pakistan’s lack of accountability, saying that it has never been given priority since the time of Ayub Khan.
He conveyed his disappointment and that he was no longer hopeful about the outcome.
Alvi commended the Islamabad High Court’s ruling in the cipher case, stating that the case was without merit and that the verdict was therefore justifiable.
