The court granted the appeal for temporary release in exchange for a Rs. 5,500 surety bond and a local guarantor, according to the documents.

Asad Qaiser must come before the investigative team, per the court’s order. Aside from postponing the hearing till June 22, the court also handed notifications to the prosecution for them to submit supporting documentation and arguments.

Former National Assembly speaker Asad Qaiser’s name was previously taken off the Exit Control List (ECL) by an order from the Peshawar High Court (PHC).

The insertion of his name was deemed unlawful and unconstitutional by a two-judge Peshawar High Court (PHC) bench made up of Justice Shakeel Ahmed and Justice Sahibzada Asadullah. The bench issued instructions.

According to the petitioner’s attorney, Asad Qaiser was the National Assembly’s previous speaker and was prohibited from leaving the country unless he performed Umra.

Asad Qaiser’s name was deemed unlawfully added to the ECL by the court, which also mandated that his name be promptly removed from the list.

Noteworthy are the numerous Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) figures who have been charged by police in connection with the Azadi March, including Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Imran Khan, and former prime minister Imran Khan.

The PTI leader and police clashed in the provincial capital, resulting in 42 complaints being filed against PTI workers and top leaders for agitation.
