During their meeting, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and his Bangladeshi counterpart Salahuddin Ahmed decided to form a joint working group at the secretary level.

A historic memorandum of understanding (MoU) to improve collaboration in stopping drug smuggling, illicit use, and the spread of narcotics was signed during the meeting.

As part of the deal, both nations will work together to destroy trafficking networks, share timely intelligence, and put together cooperative plans to lessen the negative effects of narcotics on society.

The MoU also covers training staff, exchanging best practices, and utilising contemporary technologies to combat drug use. Bangladesh expressed gratitude to Pakistan for offering full cooperation in the Safe City Project.

Expanding bilateral ties, internal security, training for civil armed forces, counterterrorism, preventing human trafficking, cybercrime, organised crime, financial fraud, and cooperative police training programs were other topics covered by the two ministers.

To further enhance cooperation, Minister Naqvi requested his counterpart from Bangladesh to come to Pakistan.
