PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari called on JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman at his residence on Tuesday and the two leaders reviewed the political situation in the country and other subjects of mutual concern.
Former prime minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf was also present in the meeting with Bilawal.
Engineer Ziaur Rehman and Maulana Asjad Mahmood were among the JUI-F delegation.
According to sources, the conference reviewed the general political situation in the country and the two sides exchanged views on various matters of mutual interest.
PPP and JUI-F have announced a political partnership earlier for upcoming Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Legislative Assembly elections to improve their electoral prospects ahead of the July 27 poll.
The statement was made during a joint news conference in Islamabad attended by senior representatives of both parties from Azad Kashmir.
PPP leader Chaudhry Yasin said the agreement marked the start of formal political collaboration between the two parties in the region and expressed his confidence that it will help both sides in the elections.
PPP leadership always took up Kashmir issue on national and international forums and is committed to represent the aspirations of people of Azad Kashmir, he said.
Chaudhry Yasin further revealed that the candidates of LA-14 and LA-23 would be the joint candidates of the PPP and JUI-F.
