In New York, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Munir Akram, paid a visit to Philemon Yang, the recently appointed President of the UN General Assembly.
He offered Philemon Yang his congratulations on taking over as President of the current General Assembly session and reassured him of Pakistan’s support.
Munir Akram praised the General Assembly President’s emphasis on the core UN Charter tenets of human dignity, peace, security, and sustainable economic progress.
He conveyed the optimism that the UN, under the astute direction of the incoming President, will be successful in tackling the world’s problems.
He also talked about what the 79th UN General Assembly session’s agenda would include.
