The Federal Government and Military Leadership’s efforts to get the economy going again and ease the electricity problem are clearly paying off.
In a nationwide crackdown on energy theft, the government has recovered 101 billion rupees and arrested over 81,000 people who were using electricity illegally.
From June 16 to June 30, electrical thieves were caught and 48 million rupees was recovered in places like Lahore, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Multan, and Islamabad. Additional 38 million rupees were retrieved from activities in Quetta, Peshawar, Hyderabad, and Sukkur.
Since June 9, 140 more people have been arrested for electrical theft.
It is still the intention of the relevant institutions to keep working across the country until energy theft is completely eliminated.
