Following the comprehensive ruling in the reserve seats case, the Election Commission of Pakistan has petitioned the Supreme Court for a review in order to get clarification on a few issues.
Additional grounds have been added to the previously submitted review petition following the issuance of the detailed order.
The Election Commission has filed a CMA because it wants to know if it should abide by the Supreme Court’s ruling or the new laws that the Parliament passed on reserved seats in the act.
The Election Commission has been considering the circumstances after the detailed order from the Supreme Court and the recent change to the Election Act by the Parliament over the past few days.
