Case Toshakhana: AC renders comprehensive decision against Bushra Bibi, PTI founder

Imran Khan and his spouse were convicted in the 23-page, in-depth ruling by Judge Muhammad Bashir of the Accountability Court of damaging the national coffers and engaging in deception to obtain benefits of Rs. 1573.72 million.

16 witnesses in all recorded their testimony in the Toshakhana case against the former prime minister and his wife, Bushra Bibi, according to the decision.

According to the full ruling, the present was recorded in Toshakhana but was never filed. Khan and his wife retained the gift, which was originally valued at Rs 3.16 billion, but instead kept it for Rs 9 million.

An accountability court sentenced the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and his wife, Bushra Bibi, to 14 years in prison on Wednesday in the Toshakhana case.

The PTI founder’s legal issues worsened when the judge barred Khan from holding any public office for the ensuing ten years in addition to imposing a strict jail sentence. The couple also paid a punishment of Rs1.573 billion as part of the ruling.
