Child dies, another hospitalised after taking ‘contaminated’ milk
A two-year-old child died and another was critical after reportedly ingesting the contaminated milk here in Nishtar Colony on Tuesday, police said.
SP Model Town Asad Ali said both the children were admitted to General Hospital for medical care.
But two-year-old Faizan died from the disease and three-year-old Zain is being treated.
The police added, “The parents of the children had bought raw milk from a local vendor and gave it to the children to drink. Police have arrested two milk dealers and seized evidence for further investigation after the incident.
Forensic experts have been requisitioned to aid in the probe, and the Food Department is also being approached to get the milk samples tested.
The specific cause of the children’s death and illness will be confirmed after the medical reports and laboratory test results are released, authorities said.
