The Supreme Court of Pakistan’s Full Court Meeting about the upcoming judicial year was chaired by Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa.
During his speech, the Chief Justice announced that, in his capacity as Chief Justice, he had implemented multiple judicial reforms, implemented significant austerity measures, and, for the first time, had chosen to broadcast cases of public importance live on television.
He stated that judges must strive to resolve cases as soon as possible and that a case management committee has been established to reduce backlog.
He emphasised the value of a fair trial and due process, stating that these are the essentials for providing plaintiffs with prompt justice.
He added that committees, not the Chief Justice, will now handle case resolution; the case that is filed first should likewise be handled first.
