CM Afridi discusses with govt ahead of planned long march

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has suggested talks with the federal government, adding that his government never shied away from conversation.

The long march is just seven days away, thus the federal government should come for talks, Afridi told a group of prominent media.

“If you want to talk, then talk now. “Why not now, if talks will be held later on?” he said.

Afridi added that he had been ready for talks earlier and was still open to negotiations. Yesterday we were ready to discuss, now we are ready. “We have never been afraid of negotiations,” he remarked.

The chief minister said the rulers were not allowing any understanding between his government and the institution.

He claimed that during the last nine months the province government had approached different governmental organisations but got no response. “And that is why we had to make the call for September 27,” he continued.

Afridi encouraged the government to utilise the remaining seven days before the march to resolve the issue through dialogue.

“One man policy” is being implemented in the country, he added, adding that Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi is its spokesperson.
