A prohibition on colleges’ connection with government universities has been reinstated by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan (HEC).
Any new affiliations with colleges and institutions in educational programs are prohibited by HEC for government universities.
Up till a fresh standard is issued, the new affiliation must be stopped.
There must be an axing of all affiliation-related print and social media advertisements.
Grant suspension for instructions not followed has been threatened by HEC.
Notably, the restriction cost government colleges billions of dollars every year in lost revenue.
In response to the billions lost in this case, vice-chancellors of government universities in Punjab addressed the governor.
