Countrywide Torrential Rains: PM Issues Orders For Safety of People During Severe Rains

With the country experiencing heavy rains, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has instructed the National Disaster Management Authority to act immediately to preserve people’s lives and property.

According to a statement, the Prime Minister gave the NDMA instructions to assist Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, and the four Provincial Governments in handling emergency situations.

The Islamabad Administration was directed by Shehbaz Sharif to take action to facilitate public access and water drainage.

He demanded ongoing situational monitoring and emphasised improved departmental coordination. It is important to make sure that water drains and that people are promptly evacuated from low-lying locations, he said.

The supply of water pumps and other apparatus was directed by the prime minister. He gave orders to make sure anyone in need of medical care received it on time.
