Cricket Australia has invited fans to witness the Pakistan cricket team’s training session for free at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on December 21 (Thursday).
Fans will get the unique experience of watching Pakistan cricket stars including Babar Azam, Shaheen Shah Afridi and skipper Shan Masood closely during the practice session ahead of the much-awaited Boxing Day Test, said Cricket Australia.
“The Gate 1 of the MCG will be open for free entry before 10am, just in time for the training session, which is scheduled to run from 10am to 12:30pm on Thursday,” said the CA.
The opportunity would provide fans an experience of watching their favourite players live while preparing for the crucial Test match as well as boost the morale of Pakistani players seeing their supporters cheer for them.
The significance of MCG for Pakistan is no secret as this is where they won ODI World Cup in 1992. Moreover, Pakistan also played T20 World Cup 2022 final in this stadium against England, though they could not claim the victory.
Every year on December 26th, following Christmas Day, a Boxing Day Test match is held. The Test matches are scheduled by Australia, South Africa, and New Zealand against other teams in their respective countries. These games draw large crowds to the stadium and get a lot of TV audience.
