PML-N According to Senator Ishaq Dar, the President of Pakistan must, at all costs, call a meeting of the National Assembly before February 29.

The former finance minister emphasised to the media that calling the NA session within 21 days after the election is required by law.

Dar said, “We expected the National Assembly’s first session to take place on February 27.” He said, “The session summary was submitted by the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs on February 17; however, the President’s signature is still pending.”

Dar underlined that the NA session will automatically convene on February 29 if President Arif Alvi does not sign the summary.

In response to a reporter’s question about what would happen if the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa governor didn’t call for the provincial assembly, Dar stated that the same thing would happen if the governor or the president didn’t call for the assembly.
