Defending the Marine Environment: Sindh and Balochistan Need To Increase Their Efforts To Save Marine Life

The Provincial Governments of Sindh and Balochistan have been asked to intensify their efforts to safeguard the Marine System by the Prime Minister’s Climate Change Coordinator, Rumina Khursheed Alam.

Rumina Khurshid Alam stated in her remark that the government is working to fulfil the worldwide objective of expanding marine protected areas by thirty percent.

The preservation of Charna Island will enhance Pakistan’s marine biodiversity, she said, and the Balochistani government’s designation of Kacharna Island as a marine protected area is a significant step.

Regarding the issues facing the marine environment, she stated that the Federal Government will work in tandem with the Provincial Governments to the fullest extent possible.
