The deputy prime minister and UK secretary of state for housing, communities and local government, Angela Rayner, met with deputy prime minister and senator Mohammed Ishaq Dar, the minister of foreign affairs.
Rayner was congratulated by Deputy Prime Minister Dar on being appointed as the British Deputy Prime Minister.
In order to advance the two nations’ common interests in the bilateral and regional spheres, he emphasised the significance of a robust Pakistan-UK alliance.
The British-Pakistani diaspora has made significant contributions to deepening the already strong links between the two nations, which the Deputy Prime Minister praised.
Deputy Prime Minister Dar recalled Deputy Prime Minister Rayner’s visit to Pakistan following the floods of 2022, during which he conveyed Pakistan’s intention to collaborate with the UK on climate action and global aid mobilisation for countries that are vulnerable to climate change.
