The hearing was conducted by a three-member bench led by Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sikandar Sultan Raja.
Parvaiz Elahi’s attorney claimed that his client was not even permitted to turn in his candidacy papers for the April 21 by-election.
According to reports, Perviaz Elahi’s 70 poll workers were detained by the police on election day from 168 polling places, suggesting that the by-election was manipulated.
According to the attorney, the FIR accused 70 of their polling agents of obstructing traffic. Following the removal of our polling agents, the ballot papers were stamped, indicating a turnout of over 91% at 5 voting locations within the constituency.
Previously, President Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) was permitted to challenge by-elections from PP-32 Gujrat by an Appellate Tribunal.
