Fazl, KP CM Sohail Afridi discuss rights of province

KP Chief Minister Sohail Afridi and JUI-F emir Maulana Fazlur Rehman met to discuss impending federal budget, provincial share in NFC Award and concerted efforts for provincial rights.

KP CM visits Mufti Mahmood Markaz on Monday. The meeting of the two leaders also discussed issues of mutual interest, coordinated efforts to attain provincial rights, the federal budget for the upcoming fiscal year and matters connected to the province’s portion.

Sohail Afridi said that the districts integrated in NFC are not getting their due share from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab government has blocked the supply of wheat to the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

He further noted that “The hurdles being created by the federal government in the supply of gas to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are extremely worrisome. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa generates more than 500 MMCFD of gas but nevertheless the province is being robbed of its due share

The CM said that the attitude of the federal government and the Punjab government is a clear violation of Article 151 and Article 158 of the Constitution and the federation is treating Khyber Pakhtunkhwa like a stepmother. Top leadership of PTI and JUI attended the meeting.
