The Chinese Ambassador, Jiang Zaidong, met with the Foreign Minister, Mohammad Ishaq Dar, on Monday.

Foreign Minister Wang Yi’s letter on assuming office was appreciated by the recipient. The Foreign Minister stated a willingness to enhance the All-weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership and elevate the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.

Former finance minister Ishaq Dar was appointed as the country’s foreign minister last week, amidst a period of increasing economic and security concerns that would heavily influence the nation’s foreign policy.

Dar, aged 73, is a qualified accountant and experienced politician affiliated with the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) party, led by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The PML-N party now holds the majority in the ruling coalition.
