Fuel costs should decline in global market, minister says consumers to gain relief

fuel Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik has remarked that if the prices of oil in the international market drop, the fuel rates in Pakistan will also fall, providing some comfort to customers.

Speaking to the media, the federal minister said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will not leave the people alone in difficult times. The prime minister has already given relief of Rs 100 per litre to the citizens, he said.

If the present scenario continued for 10 months, the prime minister and other government officials would also contribute by curtailing their privileges to bring more help to the people, said Ali Pervaiz Malik.

Referring to the economic issues encountered by the country during the previous government, the petroleum minister further warned that Pakistan would not be allowed to face bankruptcy.

“Some people were under the wrong impression that they could march on Islamabad to get the release of a person,” Malik commented on the political situation. The state is not weak and it will preserve its authority, he declared.

The minister further stated that under the current conditions, Sohail Afridi should attend the funerals of martyrs.
