GB top election commissioner releases ruling on election petitions
Chief Election Commissioner on Monday gave verdicts on poll petitions submitted in numerous seats of Gilgit-Baltistan. –
Sources said that the re-polling in three constituencies in Diamer has been called off. Candidates of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) from Diamer have been declared successful. Haji Gulbar’s re-polling appeal against Malik Kifayat of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) was also rejected.
Request for recount against Pakistan People’s Party candidate in Nagar-I was rejected. Likewise, the demand for recount by Nazir Ahmad of Pakistan Peoples Party against the PML-N candidate in Ghizer was also turned down.
Gilgit-III’s independent candidate has been declared the winner.
