The first two of the three stages that make up the cost-cutting measures’ implementation have already been finished.

An annual savings of Rs 255 million were achieved in the first phase with the elimination of 90 superfluous positions across various grades.

Further savings of more than Rs 307 million were made yearly by eliminating 130 posts in the second phase, which covered grades 1 through 19.

All of these steps combined will result in annual savings of about Rs 563 million, with an additional Rs 400 million in savings anticipated from the third phase.

The ultimate goal of saving Rs 1 billion annually was the focus of Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq’s initiatives.

The National Assembly Secretariat will no longer be hiring new staff members, according per a press release released on Thursday by the Finance Committee.
