Hafiz Naeem JI’s sit-ins to safeguard people’s rights

Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) emir Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman has remarked that inflation has turned the life of the people into a hell.

Talking to reporters after meeting with the manufacturers and traders here on Monday, Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman said the law and order situation in the country is also very terrible.

He said with the increase in petrol price, price of everything goes up and thus the petroleum levy should be repealed, loadshedding should be stopped and power and bread should be made cheaper.

People obtained respite in the electrical sector due to JI’s sit-in against IPPs, he said. A sit-in is not possible and no one is affected.

Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman claimed sit-ins are still on in Peshawar, Lahore, Karachi, Chitral, Hyderabad and Quetta and protests are also being held in several districts including Faisalabad and Islamabad.

“No political party except Jamaat-e-Islami has come out for the people,” he said. The country can generate 49,000 megawatts of electricity and yet the worst loadshedding continues.

He stated Sharif family had damaged the country. On 3rd September, he launched a nationwide strike for the rights of the people.

He encouraged the business community to support the strike in full swing and stated Jamaat-e-Islami committee is in communication with all bodies including Traders Association.
