Heavy rain lashes Lahore, more showers predicted throughout next two days

— Several areas of Lahore had heavy and moderate rainfall on Monday, while the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has expected more rain for the next two days.

Gulshan Abi had the greatest rainfall in the city with 96 millimetres, the Met Office said.

Other notable rainfall amounts included:

Samanabad: 83mm
Saggian Bridge: 68mm
Farah Abad: 50 mm.
Iqbal Town: 44mm.
Lakshmi Chowk 30mm
Pani Wala Talab: 22 mm
The PMD stated no significant rainfall was recorded in Johar Town, Manawan, Kahna and Tajpura during the last weather spell.

LAHORE: The weather conditions in Punjab are still being affected by the prevailing monsoon system with weather officials forecasting additional rain in the city today and tomorrow.

Officials are urging drivers to be careful on wet roads, and those who live in low-lying regions should keep an eye on weather advisories for possible standing water or urban flooding.

The recent precipitation comes in the backdrop of widespread monsoon activity in Punjab and officials are continue to monitor weather conditions and offer updates as and when appropriate.
