Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the Chief Minister of Punjab, has reaffirmed her unflinching sympathy with the people of Kashmir on Youm-e-Istehsal. She stated that the events that occurred on August 5, 2019, were an attack on the identity, rights, and future of Kashmiris, which Pakistan would never allow.

In her statement, the Chief Minister paid tribute to the martyrs who gave their lives in the fight for independence and praised the families of those who had lost their lives for their perseverance and fortitude. She made the statement that the people of Pakistan are standing shoulder to shoulder with their brothers and sisters in Kashmir in their long battle for the right to self-determination, and that they will continue to extend their assistance in the areas of politics, diplomacy, and moral authority.

Maryam Nawaz has issued a call to action to the United Nations, international human rights organizations, and the global community, urging them to take immediate notice of the alleged serious violations of human rights that have occurred in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. She also urged them to play an effective role in ensuring that the people of the region are granted their fundamental rights.

The Chief Minister of Punjab stated that the President of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, had always maintained a clear and principled stance on the Kashmir issue. He also stated that Pakistan would continue to support the legitimate right of the Kashmiri people to self-determination in accordance with its national position.

She reaffirmed that the people of Pakistan are in solidarity with their brothers and sisters in Kashmir and that they would continue to support their battle for justice on every level.
