In negotiations with the Treasury head, Aurangzeb requests US assistance to boost Pakistan’s economy.
— Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb called on his US counterpart, Scott Bessent to enhance Pakistan-US economic relations, increase investment and promote bilateral cooperation.
During the meeting, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb briefed the US Treasury Secretary about the government’s vision for achieving macroeconomic stability, sustainable economic growth and export-led development. He also pointed out the adverse effect of the regional situation on the economy of Pakistan.
US help was vital to improve Pakistan’s access to international financial markets and boost foreign exchange reserves and market access as part of measures to improve the country’s sovereign credit rating, the finance minister said.
Both parties underlined their resolve to further deepen economic cooperation between Pakistan and the United States, promoting increased US investment and guaranteeing progress on mutually beneficial strategic objectives.
