In Pakistan’s 91 districts, an anti-polio campaign is launched.

In 3,786 union councils in 91 districts around the nation, more than 24 million children under five would receive the anti-polio vaccine as part of the campaign, according to specifics.

Thirty districts of Balochistan, ten districts of Punjab, twenty-four districts of Sindh, twenty-six districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and the federal capital Islamabad are all participating in the campaign.

In a different development, PM Shehbaz Sharif met Bill Gates, the founder and co-chair of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, during the special meeting of the World Economic Forum in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stated during the meeting that Pakistan is making a concerted effort to rid the nation of polio and that all international partners must participate in this endeavor in order to achieve the objective of a Pakistan free of polio.

The Prime Minister expressed gratitude to the Foundation for its ongoing support of Pakistan’s efforts to eradicate polio and guaranteed further growth of the two organizations’ relationship in this area.

Bill Gates spoke about the vaccination program and the polio vaccine that had been implemented in Punjab while Shehbaz Sharif was the Chief Minister. He stressed that the success of the immunization program depended on adopting the same strategy throughout the nation.
