In Punjab, CTD detains 54 terrorists, including five RAW agents.
During information-based operations conducted around the province over the past two months, the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Punjab has detained 54 suspected terrorists, including five alleged agents connected to India’s intelligence organization RAW.
419 intelligence-based operations were carried out in several districts, including Lahore, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Jhelum, Pakpattan, Gujranwala, Sahiwal, and Okara, according to a CTD spokesperson.
According to the spokesperson, the arrested suspects were found in possession of explosive material, 12 IEDs, 42 detonators, 98 feet of safety fuse wire, forbidden stickers, literature, and cash.
According to CTD officials, the detained people were allegedly involved in organizing events meant to incite fear and discontent among the populace.
According to the department, a number of people with names like Waris Khan, Nasir, Manwar Hussain, Kamil Dad, Zahid, Inamullah, Mutiullah, Jalal, and Jamshed were among the detained suspects.
According to the CTD, 13,572 combing operations were carried out throughout Punjab in the same time frame. 1,193 suspects were arrested and 494,642 persons were questioned throughout these operations.
