In the Senate election set for April 2, it has been suggested that unopposed senators from Balochistan be elected.
According to sources, political parties may reach a consensus on a non-opposition senatorial election formula.
Out of the 11 Senate seats available for Balochistan, the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) will receive three seats apiece.
In Balochistan, Jamiat Ulama e Islam would receive two senatorial seats.
In the meantime, one Senate seat each will go to the National Party, the Awami Party of Pakistan (BAP), and the Awami National Party (ANP).
The Senate election polls were scheduled to open in Parliament and four provincial assemblies on April 2.

Every three years, once half of the members of the upper chamber have served out their terms, a Senate election is held. A senator, however, serves a six-year term.
