Islamabad police report the arrest of Imaan Mazari and her spouse, Abdul Hadi, in connection with a case filed at Aabpara Police Station about interference in governmental operations.
The police stated that the arrests occurred days after Imaan Mazari and her spouse were involved in a confrontation with traffic police while attempting to dismantle the road blockades established for the traffic protocol of the visiting England team.
The incident transpired at Islamabad Zero Point Interchange in the morning while the teams were en route to the stadium.
The attorney asserted that she was pressed for time due to a court appearance, while the Islamabad police indicated that the pair had breached the standard operating procedures (SOPs) for official guests and cautioned of potential legal action.
This is not Mazari’s inaugural arrest.
In early 2023, Imaan Mazari was apprehended by the capital police for “interference in state affairs.” Subsequently, she was awarded bail by an Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC).
