The PTI leader Aamir Dogar allegedly contacted Jamaat-e-Islami spokesperson Qaisar Sharif to start talks, which led to the next round of talks. Dogar, according to Sharif, expressed the desire for the PTI’s negotiation team, headed by Asad Qaiser, to have a meeting with the JI leadership.
Sharif said that Sardar Latif Khosa, the head of the PTI, had also spoken over the phone with Naib Emir Liaquat Baloch of Jamaat-e-Islami, highlighting the significance of collaboration between the two political organizations.Sharif said that Sardar Latif Khosa, the head of the PTI, had also spoken over the phone with Naib Emir Liaquat Baloch of Jamaat-e-Islami, highlighting the significance of collaboration between the two political organizations.
Khosa noted that Emir Sirajul Haq of Jamaat-e-Islami had a moral position on political cooperation, and the PTI thought any prospective coalition should go beyond Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to the federal level as well.
Khosa also revealed to Baloch that he was going to meet with PTI founder Imran Khan today and would thereafter get in touch with Jamaat-e-Islami leadership, reaffirming the commitment to keeping the lines of communication open for political conversation.
Baloch said that lines of contact between political groups were never closed.
According to Liaquat Baloch’s statement on Wednesday, PTI officials have communicated with the JI and PTI Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf over a shared approach in light of the recent general elections. He added that a committee was formed after the Jamaat-e-Islami emir spoke with the central leadership.
The committee communicated with PTI leaders Barrister Gohar Khan, Ali Amin Gandapur, Mohammad Azam Khan Swati, and Omar Ayub Khan on the state of the nation’s elections.
“The JI informed PTI leaders that it has serious concerns about the elections,” he stated. Forcibly altering or reversing the results is a humiliation and a terrible reputation for democracy, which will be detrimental to both the nation and democracy.
