A day after Prof. Nasim Ahmed Memon, Chairman of the Board of Intermediate Education, Karachi (BIEK), announced that the exams will begin on June 1, the revised schedule was released.

He announced in a statement that it is not possible to hold the intermediate exams starting on May 28 and that they will instead begin on June 1.

Matric and intermediate exams could not be held simultaneously in the same locations, according to the head of BIEK.

Memon stated that the board has asked the education minister for approval to prolong the tests by four days. According to him, matric tests were set for the evening, while inter exams were to take place in the morning at the testing centres.

Due to the current heatwave, the Sindh government had earlier decided to postpone the intermediate exams throughout the province for a period of five days.
