KP CM Sohail Afridi meets the bereaved father at Ayat Noor’s house.

CM Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sohail Afridi visited Ayat Noor’s residence in Haripur and met her father, offering condolences and prayers with the family.

During the visit, the chief minister was also accompanied by local MPA and Information Minister Shafi Jan.

In a meeting with the chief minister, Ayat Noor’s father thanked the people of Haripur for their support to his family throughout the tough period. He sought the death penalty for the culprits and the public hanging of the real culprit in the crime against his daughter.

Sohail Afridi condoled with the departed family and said that people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were sharing their pain. “Ayat Noor is not only our child but belongs to the whole province,” he stated.

The chief minister got emotional when talking to the girl’s father and decried the way the youngster was reportedly treated. He gave the family of full government assistance and swore that those involved would be brought to justice and made an example of.

Afridi questioned the performance of the administration, asking if the children could not be safe in the sight of government authorities then there was no reason to run offices.

He also appealed to the courts not to grant any relief to the accused persons in the case and told the family that no carelessness would be tolerated throughout the inquiry or legal proceedings.

The chief minister said that the planned Child Protection Bill would be named after Ayat Noor. He added a high school in the girl’s district would be named for her.

At the end of the meeting, Ayat Noor’s father got upset and hugged Chief Minister Sohail Afridi.
