Lahore experiences sixth day of monsoon rains

Lahore – Monsoon rains continued for the sixth consecutive day in Lahore as showers were witnessed in different parts of the provincial capital.

The city received an average rainfall of 70.5 millimetres while the maximum rainfall of 142.8 millimetres was reported in the Saggian area, Pakistan Meteorological Department said.

Rainfall data revealed 141.2mm at Farrukhabad, 129mm at Pani Wala Talab, 105.6mm at Upper Mall, 94.4mm at Lakshmi Chowk, 90mm at Chowk Nakhuda, 89.2mm at the Gulberg Head Office and 84mm in Samanabad.

Other rainfall recorded included 77.6 millimetres in Gulshan Ravi, 70 millimetres in Nishtar Town, 66 millimetres in Kahna, 64.7 millimetres on Jail Road, 63 millimetres in Johar Town, 58.2 millimetres in Shadipura, 54.4 millimetres in Tajpura, 52.4 millimetres in Mughalpura, 47.4 millimetres in Iqbal Town, 29.4 millimetres in Manawan and 28.2 millimetres at Lahore Airport.

On the other hand, Defence Road received the lowest rainfall in the city with 9.6 millimetres, the Met Department stated.
