Last ruler of erstwhile Khairpur State Mir Ali Murad Talpur dies

The last ruler of the State of Khairpur, Mir Ali Murad Khan II, passed away on Monday at the age of 93, according to his son, Prince Mir Mehdi Raza Talpur.He was receiving medical care at a private hospital in Sukkur.The local authorities have announced that Tuesday will be a public holiday across the entire district.

The funeral prayers for Mir Ali Murad Khan II will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m.
People in Kot Diji are feeling deeply sad about his death.

Mir Ali Murad Khan II was born on June 29, 1933, in Brighton, United Kingdom.
He became the ruler of the State of Khairpur in July 1947 when he was only 14 years old.The state joined Pakistan on October 3, 1947.He was the last ruler of the State of Khairpur.

The independent rule of the state ended with the introduction of the One Unit scheme in 1955.
His passing marks the end of a major part of the State of Khairpur’s history.

Former Prime Minister Liaquat Ali Khan crowned Mir Ali Murad Khan Talpur, and at that time, he was given full powers as the ruler, with a 17-gun salute.
Mir Ali Murad Khan Talpur was the Wali of the state from 1947 to 1954.The symbols of the Talpur dynasty, like Kot Digi Fort, Faiz Mahal, and Mehrano Jungle, are still there today.
