After clouds moved throughout the nation, flooding low-lying areas and raising the water level in Nullah Lai, heavy rain battered Islamabad and Rawalpindi.

The water level in Nullah Lai at Katarian was 16 feet, while at Gawalmandi point it was 10 feet. Rainwater seeped into homes in a number of locations and filled underpasses in G-6.

The rainfall also had an impact on the provision of electricity in a number of areas of the twin cities. In Rawalpindi, a rain emergency was proclaimed, and large equipment was used to remove water from low-lying regions.

In the meantime, Kundian also reported severe rain, which caused water to build up in low-lying regions.

More rain is expected in many regions of the nation today and tomorrow, according to the Meteorological Department.

Authorities have advised residents and visitors to be cautious due to the possibility of landslides in Murree, Galiyat, and other hilly places.
