Major martyred, four terrorists eliminated in Kalat, Gwadar operations

— A major of Pakistan Army killed and four terrorists of Fitna al-Hindustan slain during intelligence-based operations by security forces in Balochistan’s Kalat and Gwadar districts.

Major Wajahat Waheed was martyred in an IED explosion in the Tehsil Pasni of Gwadar district during a clearance operation.

ISPR said that the intelligence services had reported many hideouts of the Indian-sponsored Fitna al-Hindustan terrorists in Jattakabad region of Kalat district and Shadi Kaur area of Pasni tehsil of Gwadar district which constituted a threat to the local population.

ISPR said security forces launched an intelligence based operation in Jattakabad region of Kalat on October 18.

The terrorist stronghold was effectively targeted during the operation and after a fierce exchange of fire, four terrorists were killed.

A huge cache of rifles and ammunitions was also retrieved from the region.

According to a spokesman for the Pakistan Army, the security forces were conducting clearance operations to kill terrorists and secure the area when an improvised explosive device (IED) exploded targeting a group of security forces in the Shadi Kaur area of Pasni Tehsil in Gwadar District.

The explosion led to the martyrdom of the squad commander, Major Wajahat Waheed.

Major Wajahat Waheed, 34, belonged to Lahore. In the performance of his duty he gave his life in defence of the nation.
