Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim Conducts Bilateral Meeting with Shehbaz in Pakistan

Prime Minister of Malaysia Anwar Ibrahim conducted a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif at the Prime Minister’s House today.

The two leaders engaged in substantive and results-driven conversations in a congenial atmosphere.

The discourse encompassed a broad spectrum of bilateral, regional, and international matters of shared concern, including challenges confronting the Muslim ummah. They also deliberated on the measures to strengthen bilateral collaboration aimed at attaining tangible outcomes in these domains.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif extended his congratulations to the Malaysian Prime Minister on Malaysia’s forthcoming Chairmanship of ASEAN in 2025.

Prime Minister Ibrahim endorsed Pakistan’s ongoing participation with ASEAN as a Sectoral Dialogue Partner and advocated for enhanced collaboration between Pakistan and ASEAN, as well as Pakistan’s expanded role within ASEAN.

Both Prime Ministers acknowledged the extensive history of collaboration between the two nations and underlined their commitment to enhancing the mutually advantageous partnership.

The leaders emphasized the significance of dialogue and reciprocal visits at all levels to establish the tone and future trajectory of bilateral relations between the two nations. They highlighted the importance of the Joint Ministerial Commission (JMC), bilateral consultations, and other mechanisms to strengthen engagement across all tiers.

Earlier, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim arrived at the PM House for discussions with Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif.

Prime Minister Shehbaz cordially welcomed his Malaysian counterpart at the PM House.

A well-dressed group of the Pakistan Armed Forces offered a guard of honour to the Malaysian Prime Minister.

The Malaysian Prime Minister presented his entourage to the Prime Minister.

Anwar Ibrahim also planted a seedling in the grounds of the Prime Minister’s residence.

Both nations would also execute Memorandums of Understanding and agreements pertaining to the enhancement of Pakistan-Malaysia bilateral relations.
