Maryam Nawaz becomes the first female chief minister of Punjab after taking an oath.

Maryam Nawaz, the recently elected and first female Chief Minister of Punjab, took the oath of office at the Governor’s House in this city on Monday.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz was handed the oath by Punjab Governor Muhammad Baligh Ur Rehman.

This time around, a sizable contingent of party leaders and workers were in attendance, along with members of the Punjab Assembly, the President of the Pakistan Muslim League, Nawaz Quid Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, and members of the Punjab Assembly.

Earlier today, Maryam Nawaz of the Pakistan Muslim League-N was chosen as the province’s first female chief minister during the provincial assembly session held in Lahore. She received twenty-odd votes.

Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan, the speaker, declared the outcome of the vote.
Rana Aftab Ahmad Khan was the nominee put up by the Sunni Ittehad Council. The Council, however, abstained from the whole election process.

Following her victory, Maryam Nawaz addressed the House and proposed a number of initiatives aimed at helping the average person.

Regardless of her political membership, she claimed to be the Chief Minister of the entire province.
