Maryam Nawaz calls on qualified youth to avail international career possibilities, says they are Pakistan’s future
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has remarked that the talented young is the bright future of Pakistan which can contribute as a precious asset of the nation and can better assist their family.
She complimented the learners who have finished their training under the “Parwaaz Card” scheme for their efforts. She commended their commitment and their parents for their support, saying that it’s a great task taking on the burden of a family at a young age.
“They are also supposed to give back to society. With their skills and hard work, they should contribute positively to the society,” she said during the event. She emphasized the importance of the abroad career options which not only provide greater pay but also offer valuable experience and modern professional skills.
Maryam Nawaz said working overseas helps youth grasp current institutions, work ethics and practices in industrialized countries. She encouraged students to look at sophisticated cultures and learn from the causes that led to their development.
She added much of the workforce in Pakistan is unskilled, limiting earnings and professional advancement. The government of Punjab is imparting technical skills in several sectors and plans to train over 500,000 youth.
Not everyone can go for a university degree but vocational and technical education can still offer better work chances, the chief minister remarked. “Training programmes are being aligned with individual abilities and market demand to help the youth secure jobs locally and abroad,” she said.
“Skilled workers earn more and are more respected abroad,” she said. She also thanked Adnan Chatha and his colleagues for their role in the success of the course, saying skill development was a high priority for the government.
Maryam Nawaz remarked that over 50 percent of Pakistani workers travelling abroad are untrained, making it difficult for them to obtain better earnings and career advancement. She emphasized the need for updated skills to compete in the global work market.
She said the provincial government is providing training in sectors local and worldwide markets want such as construction, hospitality, transport, logistics, engineering, energy and healthcare.
She noted that innovative technical courses to keep children in tune with global trends have also been incorporated in training programmes in burgeoning industries such nursing, culinary arts, hydrocarbons and renewable energy.
Maryam Nawaz said agreements with corporations in countries including Saudi Arabia and Malaysia are being formed for creating foreign employment possibilities so that the skilled youth can start safe and dignified professions. She added that skill development is also a crucial to economic stability.
She added that financial constraints like as visa fees, medical exams, flight tickets and other expenditures are being looked into by way of easier loan grants so that young people can take up work possibilities overseas.
The chief minister stated 105 youths have been placed in jobs in various areas. New opportunities are also being offered for women notably in construction. Better salaries, she said, will also allow young people to support their families and to enhance their standard of living.
