Meeting between Russia and Pakistan to Strengthen Collaboration on International Forums

In the fields of trade, industry, energy, connectivity, research, technology, and education, Pakistan and Russia have decided to promote active communication and collaboration.

At their meeting in Islamabad, Russian counterpart Mikhail Mishustin and Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif reached this agreement.

Both Prime Ministers acknowledged the favorable trend in Pakistan-Russian relations over the past 20 years and spoke about the full range of mutual collaboration.

In multilateral fora, such as the United Nations and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, both parties committed to strengthening their cooperation. In an additional expression of gratitude, he praised Russia for having backed Pakistan’s application to join the BRICS, which would lead to further international cooperation.

All areas of common interest would be the focus of strong cooperation between the two prime ministers.

In addition, the two leaders decided to strengthen their financial sectors’ collaboration in order to promote commerce and investment, as well as to improve language exchanges between their nations.
