Middle East peace best served by signing Dar-IAEA pact on Islamabad
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar met with Ambassador Rafael Grossi, Director General of IAEA and candidate for UN Secretary-General position.
They reviewed the changing dynamics in the region and concurred that the implementation of the Islamabad MoU was the most appropriate path to ensure de-escalation of tensions in the Middle East. Technical assistance will be provided by Ambassador Grossi in case of any need.
The Deputy Prime Minister reiterated that Pakistan continues to remain dedicated to promoting the objectives and principles enshrined in the UN Charter and international laws and treaties.
Senator Ishaq Dar emphasized the significance of the UN organization in achieving peace and development goals at the international level. He expressed good wishes for Ambassador Grossi in his candidature for the post of UN Secretary-General.
