At the PAF Museum’s Annual Dinner-2024, the chief minister announced that his government had set aside 2000 acres of land in Deh Moachko and Gabo Pat, District Keamari, for the construction of SITE Karachi Phase-III. The event was organised by the Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI).
The speaker stated that the “Industrial Estate at Nooriabad Phase III” has been constructed across an area of 1150 acres of land under the private sector and that “planning and development of infrastructure facilities is in process.”
The province’s industrialisation, as well as its economic and commercial expansion, are the goals of Murad Ali Shah’s government, which aims to create an atmosphere that is friendly to businesspeople and industry.
“The country’s manufacturing and export industries now rely heavily on the Korangi Industrial Area,” the CM stated. The Korangi Industrial Area’s (KIA) business and industrial environment have been improved, he continued, by the active participation of KATI in a number of projects.
The chief minister discussed infrastructure development, stating that the Korangi Industrial Zone’s road system and drainage systems have been upgraded by his government.
With yearly floods being a major problem for the area’s industries, these infrastructure upgrades hope to lessen their effects while facilitating the transfer of products and services.
Murad Shah stated that the provincial government’s key priorities have been ensuring seamless logistics and lowering the risk of flooding. The Sindh government supplied adequate funding for the infrastructure development of Karachi’s industrial zones, including KATI, between 2016 and 2017. After breaking down the monies, the Chief Minister stated that 380 million of them were given directly to KATI for the development of its infrastructure and that the remaining 1759 million had been released to four industrial zones.
Concerning the traffic problems in the Korangi Industrial Area, Murad Shah stated that the government of Sindh is constructing the Malir Motorway quickly in order to address traffic dangers, particularly heavy traffic. This project will shortly reach the end of its initial phase.
A motorway connecting the Jam Sadiq Bridge and the Karachi Port Terminal has been approved, according to Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah. According to him, the Malir Motorway and the Karachi Port Terminal (KPT) will be connected by a 12.5-kilometre motorway that will be partially elevated and partially subterranean at the Jam Sadiq Bridge.
The chief minister addressed environmental deterioration and said that efforts had been made to address it in the Korangi area through the Green Initiatives. The zone will become more sustainable for long-term growth, he continued, by reducing industrial pollutants and improving air quality as part of the Clean and Green Campaign’s joint venture with KATI.
