More than 4,000 lawyers will exercise their right to vote in the ongoing SCBA polls.

The Supreme Court Bar Association 2024–25 election is under underway, with over 4,000 attorneys nationwide casting ballots to choose their leaders.

In Lahore, voting is presently taking place at the Supreme Court Registry.

Seventeen applicants are vying for eight Supreme Court Bar seats.

1,414 Supreme Court Bar counsel electors who have registered will use their right to vote in Lahore.

There will likely be fierce competition between the leading contenders backed by Mian Rauf Atta of the Asma Jahangir independent group and Munir Ahmed Kakar of the Hamid Khan Professional Group. For the coveted position of SCBA President, both are competing.

For the post of Secretary SCBA, Salman Mansoor and Malik Zahid Aslam Awan are running.

The following registered advocates will exercise their right to vote: 1404 from Lahore, 263 from Balochistan, 517 from KPK, 683 from Sindh, 111 from Bahawalpur, 769 from Islamabad and Rawalpindi, and 274 from Multan.

Overseeing the elections is the Supreme Court Bar Association. The Supreme Court Lahore Registry is one of the polling places nationwide with strict security measures in place, and every effort has been made to ensure that the election is transparent. The results of today’s polling will be made public immediately after it closes at 5 p.m.

Balochistan High Court building polling for Supreme Court Bar Association Elections is in progress.

In Quetta, Balochistan, there are 263 registered attorneys who are eligible to cast ballots in the Supreme Court Bar Election.

Currently, more than fifty votes have been cast.

At the Balochistani High Court, voting will continue from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Independent Group’s Muhammad Rauf Atta from Balochistan and Professional Group’s Munir Ahmad Khan Kakar are anticipated to face off in a fierce contest for the presidency.

Today marks the end of the Champions Trophy tour in Pakistan.

The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 worldwide trophy tour concluded Monday in Pakistan. It is planned that the trophy trip will include the transportation of the prized silverware to Afghanistan.

The trophy took a journey of adventure during its stay in Pakistan, passing through several beautiful cities. After starting its tour in Islamabad, the capital, it traveled to the picturesque slopes of Murree and Nathia Gali.

The trophy went on to visit Taxila, Khanpur Dam, Abbottabad, and Karachi. Following a fast-paced trip, it has now concluded its leg in Pakistan by returning to the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) headquarters in Lahore.

From December 15 to 22, the trophy will continue its global celebration after landing in South Africa.

After that, from December 25 to January 5, the Champions Trophy will travel to Australia, captivating cricket fans, before traveling to New Zealand from January 6 to January 11.

Fans will have the opportunity to interact with the trophy at the journey’s next stop in England, which is scheduled for January 12 to 14.

From January 15 to 26, the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 will be on display in India as the grand finale of this thrilling worldwide trophy tour.
