Federal minister and Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui has called for more attention and support for Karachi, saying the city, which supports the state, should be allowed to survive.

Siddiqui said in a statement that Karachi is the heart of Pakistan and deserves goodwill and fair treatment. Siddiqui further said that Pakistan’s ruling class represents a specific section of society and has no connection with his party.

Their real competition, he said, is an anti-education mentality. Commenting on devolution, the MQM leader claimed that power is being taken away from the homes of poor people and brought to wealthy areas.

He also criticized K-Electric and said that electricity is not reaching the homes of the poor. He reiterated the need to address the problems of Karachi and provide justice to the people of the city.
