Naqvi sets Dec 31 deadline for Margalla Road, Sangjani projects

“Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has ordered the authorities to speed up the construction work on Margalla Road extension to Expressway and Sangjani Interchange projects and complete them by December 31.

Naqvi and Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry toured the ongoing projects and inspected the progress of development work.

During the visit, the interior minister urged the concerned authorities to continue the construction in double shifts and speed up work to achieve completion of both projects within the set date.

He said the projects would provide an alternative route to the Expressway for the people of Islamabad and would ease the travel comfort of the commuters.

Naqvi also told the deputy commissioner to remove all encroachments within a week. The minister directed the officials to remove any hurdles in the completion of the projects quickly.

The CDA officials apprised the minister on the pace of the construction activity.

The briefing said the 2.7-km segment from Margalla Road to Sangjani Interchange will feature an underpass and an interchange.

The minister urged the authorities to utilize all the resources available to them to complete the projects on time and guarantee that no delays occurred in the construction work.
